This is something that my Fiancée and I researched the other day, purely and simply because we were interested in getting married overseas in a nice warm and sunny country. All we kept on hearing was that we would not be able to put the money together to afford this. So straight away I put the idea out of my mind.
There were a lot of places for us to visit, so we took note of many churches and venues for possible wedding locations. There was a problem though almost all of these wedding venues including a reception for almost a hundred people afterwards was going to cost us about fifteen thousand pounds. It then dawned on me that the people who informed me about having a wedding abroad, hadn’t actually been married abroad, so what made them experts on a wedding in the Caribbean?
It was my choice in the end, when I was at the computer at home to set some time aside to check out some of these weddings. You can probably guess what I found next, a wedding venue in St Lucia, including; flights, a weeks holiday, a wedding venue, a hotel room and a reception set up for all of us. For as little amount as five thousand pounds sterling. Then it occurred to me that people would have to pay for their flights to come over to our wedding, which in a way made this even better. It was quite simple really, if we gave people enough time they would be able to make it, and although it would be a smaller wedding, we would have the ones we wanted there! Then 1 year later we were destined to get married in the Caribbean.
Weddings abroad are a choice to everyone, try not to consider them as luxury holidays, however you do get pampered, apparently Maldives holidays are the best for honeymoons!
