If you are planning to design your own ring, or you are thinking of buying a pre-set engagement ring, make sure that the setting of the diamond is perfect and matches with the other features of the jewellery. In fact, the way to fix the precious stone on the ring is so crucial that it can make or break the appearance of the jewellery. Only great looking jewellery can please your bride-to-be. In today’s society jeweller’s shops have extensively creative and uniquely designed rings for you’re to choose from. A particular setting makes the jewellery look different from others. Today, there are many such settings available for you to choose from. These include prong, bezel, and channel and pave settings. These are generally the most popular settings for rings. While choosing a particular setting for diamond engagement rings, it is necessary to first know about your or your bride’s taste.

Each way of fixing the diamond will give a different look to the ring. The Prong setting is possibly the most favoured by women. This is applied mainly on the solitaire rings in order to give prominence to the sole diamond on the ring. Four to six prongs are erected around the precious stone in order to lift the gem above the rings metal surface. The prongs are bent inwardly for added protection to the stone that is firmly placed in a metal basket. But this setting is costly as a single diamond is usually very expensive due to its high carat weight. Bezel-set pre-set engagement rings are another popular choice the women due to their additional protection to the expensive diamond. A metal collar is wrapped around the gem so that it does not fall out easily from the ring. But ensure that the collar is not too thick so that more light is able to fall on to the gems surface making it look more radiant.

You don’t have to know a whole lot about jewelry. You just have to look at which ring looks good to you. The most you could need to know is a little bit about Carat weight, but as long as you understand that bigger is better, you’re pretty much set. Well that about covers the pre-set side of things. Now, what’s my personal preference? I’d rather design my own, especially if the choice is between go to a jeweler or build a ring online. I absolutely hate dealing with jewelers, I feel like they don’t care about you, they just want to make a quick buck, and are willing to manipulate your thoughts to make you spend more. Even if you buy a pre-set diamond rings online, I still feel that the create engagement ring route is more worth it. It’s a great feeling going through the work of designing the perfect ring and seeing her face when you propose. You just feel great, like you got it exactly right.

Customs in Nigeria vary according to tribe and religion, but some of the common practices still in vogue today include a ceremony where the groom’s family introduces themselves to the bride’s family and asks for their daughter’s hand in marriage to their son. In time’s past, the couple would be married immediately after the engagement ceremony, but current Nigerian law requires that the couple register with the government before marrying. Couples in Egypt will exchange rings upon engagement and wear these same rings on their right hand until they are married, then move them to the left hand. During the engagement period, the man is responsible for securing a home – buying or renting a house or an apartment – and the home must include all the desired electrical appliances. Though the couple is the most important part of the marriage covenant, some of the behind-the-scenes folks also play significant roles. For example, in China, many families still rely on the services of a matchmaker who determines if the prospective bride and groom are compatible astrologically. Many Americans who are familiar with the story, “Fiddler on the Roof” gained a glimpse of Jewish customs, particularly for Jews in Tsarist Russia. During that time, the Father picked the groom based on the recommendation of the matchmaker, but as in the case of Teyve, father of five daughters, the three oldest made sure that they had their say too. Yes, the world may be changing and with these changes some customs are evolving as well. Though many young adults may want to do what is “new and different” many are honoring their families by honoring time-honored traditions. That pre-set diamond engagement ring can still be given, but as long as the remaining customs are upheld, then incorporating modern practices can still be enjoyed.
