A butterfly wedding theme is one of the most beautiful wedding themes. Particularly when you have a butterfly release. As with any theme you don’t want to go overboard where everything is ‘butterfly’ oriented.  This can go from beautiful to tacky very quickly. Have the butterfly theme as the foundation and keep it low key for the best effect.

When you are including a butterfly release, that is often enough so butterfly images on napkins etc isn’t necessary. Compliment the ‘thought’ of butterflies with wedding colors that compliment the butterfly species that you have chosen. Guests will immediately recognize your theme and admire your style and taste.

You will want your bridesmaid dresses and flower arrangements to compliment the butterfly’s colors. The groom and groomsmen can wear black as most butterfly wings have black in them.

Choose a location that makes sense for a butterfly release. A butterfly garden or any outdoor wedding would make a beautiful ceremony centred on the release to freedom and independence represented by the butterfly. Notify photographers that a butterfly release is planned so they can be prepared for the unique photo opportunities.

A butterfly release is becoming an increasingly popular way to create a uniques and memorable wedding ceremony. You can conduct a web search for butterfly release to purchase your butterflies. Special cooler boxes are used for shipping the butterflies. This keeps them in a partial hibernation mode and they get sluggish. Keep them in these containers until about 90 minutes before they are to be released. For them to become more active transfer them to a warmer location so they are ready to fly at the appointed time.

Plan on one butterfly per two guest for a good effect. So for 200 guests you would buy 100 butterflies. You can have guests release the butterflies individually or release them all at once from a basket. A dozen butterflies costs around $90. When compared to other wedding costs live butterflies are relatively inexpensive. Instead of rice or birdseed, releasing a large group of butterflies all at once creates a beautiful scene that adults and children alike will love. A butterfly release will be one of the most memorable wedding ceremonies your guest have ever attended.
