There is a direct correlation between people who give best man speeches and depression. One can assume that a person who gives best man speeches has a desire to imagine that they lived in a world outside of their own. These speeches are a medium for certain types of people to live out fantasies, scenarios, and activities that they wouldn’t be in through their daily lives. No wonder the [adult costume] industry is going. Is this the where our society is heading to? We live in a place where people’s reality is rather lived in a reality which is not there own. People spend countless hours playing online video games such as World of War Craft to The Sims. This ulterior reality that people partake in is truly detrimental in societies ability to communicate with one another in person. These online communities, market places, and online reality games that people play and dream of truly are a sign of our society’s demise and future’s high depression rates. People will one day realize that they desire to socialize with people online, where most of their friends are online. People will become down trodden and depressed when they figure out that their life is friendless with very little human interaction. Weddings will go on with best man speeches, but the love for our world may not.
